The city is held together by places some convenient, others less so; those illuminated by intense light and those quietly lingering in the shadows. Whether public or personal, these spaces often go unnoticed, their slow transformation eclipsed by the rapid pace of life. In a city as chaotic and densely populated as Cairo, it becomes difficult to recognize subtle changes or appreciate moments that are not monumental. Yet time continues to move through these settings, shaping them day by day.
By looking back into the past or simply acknowledging the present, we are reminded that while people come and go, the places themselves endure.
About the Artist: Yehia Seyam’s practice introduces a contemporary blend of modern impressionism and abstract expressionism, brought to life through dramatic experimentation with color, form, and texture. At just 24 years old, he pushes the boundaries of conventional aesthetics, continuously exploring new directions that move between rigidity and abstraction. The eight paintings on display embody this pursuit, offering a fresh visual perspective that prioritizes emotional depth, creativity, and artistic ingenuity.

تترابط المدينة من خلال أماكن بعضها ملائم والبعض الآخر أقل ملاءمة؛ تلك التي تضيئها الأضواء الساطعة وتلك التي تظل في الظل بهدوء. سواء كانت عامة أو خاصة، غالبًا ما تمر هذه الأماكن دون أن يلاحظها أحد، حيث تطغى وتيرة الحياة السريعة على تحولها البطيء. في مدينة فوضوية ومكتظة بالسكان مثل القاهرة، يصعب ملاحظة التغييرات الطفيفة أو تقدير اللحظات غير المهمة. ومع ذلك، يستمر الزمن في الماضي قدمًا عبر هذه الأماكن، ويشكلها يومًا بعد يوم.بالنظر إلى الماضي أو ببساطة بالاعتراف بالحاضر، نتذكر أن الناس يأتون ويذهبون، أما الأماكن نفسها فتبقى.
