Essam Alaa
Essam Alaa, 27, lives and works in Cairo. He divides his time between his Bulaq Dakror District, one of the largest and most populous in Cairo, and Maadi where he has been painting for over 7 years. He initially worked as a journalist, writing sports articles in magazines, before transitioning to writing about his paintings in a free and poetic style. His first exhibition took place in December 2019 in Maadi and was received with great success, particularly by the French community. This success led to a second exhibition held at the renowned Mashrabia Gallery in downtown Cairo in September 2021.
In 2020, Essam started an artistic self-business to support young talents. Drawing inspiration from the book "How I Became Madman" by poet Khalil Gibran, he presented an exhibition by the same title in 2023, which once again achieved great success. His artistic endeavors are constantly evolving in parallel with his personal creative journey.
